Don't be brow envy, BE BROW ENVY.
Semi-permanent makeup makes busy mornings and active lifestyles easier. It boosts confidence, and can even help heal. Whether you are looking to redefine the shape of your brows or improve density, microblading and shading allows me to fill in empty/sparse areas, thicken, extend, and create brows for clients who have lost all their brow hair.
Hair-stroke Eyebrows - Individual hair strokes are manually drawn into the eyebrows that resembles your natural brow hair. Results: it provides a natural and realistic appearance, creates a soft feathered effect.
Powdered Ombre - A powdery finish with soft edges. Pigment is implanted in a gradient fashion - darker at the tails to progressively lighter towards the front of the eyebrow. Results: mimics the appearance of more conventional brow make-up with fuller coverage than hair stroke eyebrows.
Combo Brows - Combines both realistic microfine hair strokes with a soft powdery effect to add more density and dimension. Results: naturally full and defined eyebrow.
THE BENEFITS OF EYEBROW TATTOOS
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
ARE EYEBROW TATTOOS PAINFUL?
Levels of discomfort vary upon each individual's pain threshold and sensitivity, but the sensation can be compared to tweezing of the eyebrows or a light scratching. To ensure maximum comfort during the procedure, a topical anesthetic will be applied before and during your treatment. Please note, if you are on your menstrual cycle you may be more sensitive to pain. Sleep, stress, and caffeine can also play a factor in pain sensitivity.
HOW LONG DO RESULTS LAST?
Semi-permanent pigments will fade over time naturally. Many different factors affect the life of the implanted pigment, such as color choice, lifestyle, sun exposure, skin type, hormones, medications, and immediate and long-term aftercare. Results typically last 1 - 5 years, but most clients will prefer a touch-up every 1 - 2 years to refresh the color and shape of the eyebrows. Oilier skin types tend to fade quicker than drier skin types. Frequent smokers or those with iron deficiency anemia may have results fade sooner. Results vary with each client.
WHAT WILL THE FINAL RESULTS LOOK LIKE?
Hair-strokes work best for clients with dry to normal skin types. Hair-strokes on oiler skin types tend to heal softer and more blended. Clients with more natural existing hair will have a more of a 3D-look, whereas clients with less hair, will have more of a 2-dimensional look. My goal is to achieve the most natural looking brow that compliments your face, regardless.
WHAT IS THE TATTOO HEALING PROCESS?
Generally, no time off work is needed for healing as mild redness and swelling immediately after the procedure will subside within 24-hours. Healing time is approximately 10 - 14 days for the top layers of the skin. Initially after the procedure, brows will be much warmer and darker, more saturated and thicker than what the final result will be once healed; it is important to understand that brows will become 10 - 15% thinner and up to 40% lighter. Between 4 - 6 weeks, the area and deeper layers of the skin will be fully healed and reveal its true shape and color. There can be some minor patchiness in healing between your first and second appointment - this is the purpose of your touch-up or "perfecting" appointment, which can be booked 4 - 6 weeks after the initial treatment.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING THE EYEBROW PROCEDURE?
An in-depth consultation where expectations are discussed, facial measurements are taken, colors are determined, and a removable drawing of what your brows will look like is performed for your approval before the tattooing procedure. The procedure can be performed the same day of the consultation. I allow enough time to complete paperwork, take before & after photos, 15 - 20 minutes of topical numbing, the procedure, and finally a review of aftercare.
HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY EYEBROW PROCEDURE?
- Botox/Fillers: 4 weeks in advance
- Facial Laser treatments, Chemical Peels, Microneedling: 4 weeks in advance
- Skin products containing vitamin A, retinol, and/or AHA on the brow area: 2 weeks
in advance
WHAT SHOULD I DO AFTER THE EYEBROW PROCEDURE?
Aftercare involves not picking, scratching, or exfoliating your brows while they are healing and potentially scabbing and flaking the first 7 - 10 days. Avoidance of excessive sun exposure, water, perspiration, skin care products, makeup and exfoliation to the area is important so pigment and healing are not disturbed. Detailed aftercare instructions will be given on the day of the appointment, as well as an aftercare kit with specific cleanser and healing ointment to maintain the health and longevity of your new brows.
WHAT PIGMENTS & TOOLS DO YOU USE?
I use a combination of organic and synthetic pigments that are safe for the skin. These high-performance pigments are rigorously tested for harmful dyes, heavy metals, and microbiological sterility to ensure safety and stability. All pigments used are approved by Health Canada. For your peace of mind, I only use sterile, single-use needles, which are opened in front of you. Additionally, my studio is inspected and approved by Alberta Health Services, meeting the highest standards of cleanliness and safety
